FAQ's of SQK Jacketed Valve:
Q: How does the jacketed design of the SQK Valve benefit industrial applications?
A: The jacketed design enables efficient regulation of temperature by circulating steam or thermal fluids around the valve body, ensuring process media remain at the desired temperature. This is particularly valuable in pharmaceutical, chemical, and petrochemical processes where media temperature must be closely controlled.
Q: What is the process for testing the SQK Jacketed Valve before shipment?
A: Each SQK Jacketed Valve undergoes rigorous hydrostatic and pneumatic testing to verify pressure integrity and leak resistance. These tests, conducted up to 10 bar jacket pressure and 20 bar working pressure, comply with industry safety standards, ensuring reliable performance in demanding environments.
Q: When should I select metal seats versus soft seats for the SQK Jacketed Valve?
A: Metal seats are recommended for high-temperature and abrasive service where durability is critical, while soft seats offer superior sealing for lower temperature applications and clean media. The choice depends on the application's pressure, temperature, and the types of media involved.
Q: Where can the SQK Jacketed Valve be installed, and what connection types are available?
A: The valve can be installed in most industrial pipelines handling steam, oils, or chemicals, especially in pharmaceutical, chemical, and petrochemical plants. Standard flanged end connections, compliant with ANSI/DIN standards, enable secure integration with various piping systems.
Q: What are the advantages of the anti-corrosive coating and polished surface?
A: The anti-corrosive coating provides excellent protection against harsh process chemicals, while the polished surface minimizes the risk of contamination, making the valve ideal for clean and sterile environments such as those required in pharmaceutical processing.
Q: How does the manual operation (hand wheel/gear) improve valve usage?
A: Manual operation via hand wheel or gear system ensures precise, user-friendly flow control without the need for electrical or pneumatic power sources. This enhances safety and simplifies maintenance, particularly in hazardous or remote locations.
Q: What sizes and standards does the SQK Jacketed Valve accommodate?
A: Available in port sizes from DN25 to DN150 (25mm to 150mm), the valve conforms to ANSI and DIN connection standards, offering broad compatibility for integration into new or existing industrial systems.
