Precision Engineering for Challenging EnvironmentsThis gate valve is constructed from duplex stainless steel, conforming to ASTM A890/A995 standards, ensuring superior resistance against aggressive media. The shot blasted and passivated surface finish further enhances durability, making it suitable for environments exposed to chemicals, seawater, and corrosive fluids. Its reliable sealing-soft or metal seated-minimizes leakage while supporting a wide working temperature range from -29C to 250C.
Versatility in Operation and ConnectionThe valve is offered with manual handwheel operation, gear operated, or on-request electric actuators, ensuring flexible control. It features both flanged and butt weld end connections, compatible with ANSI B16.5 and EN1092 standards, and comes in pressure ratings from PN16 up to Class 600. Its bolted bonnet and rising stem structure provide ease of maintenance, while the anti-clockwise opening offers standard handling.
FAQ's of Duplex Stainless Steel Gate Valve:
Q: How is the Duplex Stainless Steel Gate Valve operated and what actuator options are available?
A: The valve is primarily designed for manual operation using a cast iron or carbon steel handwheel. However, for automated control, it can be fitted with gear operated or electric actuators upon request to suit varying application needs.
Q: What makes this gate valve suitable for corrosive and seawater environments?
A: The valve's body, made from duplex stainless steel (ASTM A890/A995 Gr 4A/5A/6A), exhibits exceptional corrosion resistance, complemented by a shot blasted and passivated surface finish. These features ensure reliability when exposed to aggressive fluids such as seawater, chemicals, and oil.
Q: Where are these valves typically used?
A: Duplex stainless steel gate valves are commonly installed in water treatment plants, chemical processing facilities, petrochemical industries, and offshore platforms where robust corrosion resistance and dependable shutoff are essential.
Q: What is the testing and leakage standard for this gate valve?
A: Each valve is tested according to API 598 standards to ensure integrity and performance. An optional Class VI leakage standard can be provided, offering enhanced sealing particularly for demanding applications.
Q: How does the valve maintain secure sealing under varying pressures and temperatures?
A: The gate valve features soft or metal sealed seats with PTFE, graphite, or integral seating options. Combined with a backseat feature and packing of graphite or PTFE, these components guarantee tight sealing across pressure ratings of PN16, PN25, and Class 150 to 600, at working temperatures from -29C to 250C.
Q: What are the available end connection types and port sizes for this valve?
A: You can choose between flanged ends (ANSI B16.5/EN1092) and butt weld connections, suitable for various piping systems. The valve is full port as per requirement, offering minimal flow restriction and ease of integration.
