About A351 CF3M Cast Stainless Steel Piston Valve
A351 CF3M Cast Stainless Steel Piston Valve
Full port forged steel isolation valves with a maximum operating pressure of 1973 psig/136 Barg and a maximum operating temperature of 800oF/427oC. The burnished piston and metal reinforced graphite rings provide leak-proof shut off and allow Piston Valves to be operated at higher temperatures, while also extending operating life.
Piston Valves are available in Socket Weld, BSPT, and NPT end connections. Flanged ends can be supplied upon request. Piston Valves are ideal for saturated and superheated steam, and hot water applications.

The robust A351 CF3M cast stainless steel construction enhances durability, while bolted bonnet and advanced packing materials (PTFE or graphite) support reliable, leak-free operation in harsh conditions.
Wide Range of ApplicationsIdeal for steam, water, oil, and gas, this straight pattern piston valve is suited for multiple industrial sectors. Engineered for bi-directional flow, it seamlessly integrates into processes where accurate shut-off and flow control are paramount-making it a preferred choice for manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors in India.
FAQ's of A351 CF3M Cast Stainless Steel Piston Valve:
Q: How is the A351 CF3M Cast Stainless Steel Piston Valve installed in a piping system?
A: Installation depends on the selected connection end-flanged, screwed, or socket welded. Each type accommodates different piping requirements and ensures secure integration. Follow standardized installation procedures to maintain pressure integrity and optimal performance.
Q: What is the maximum test pressure and temperature this valve can withstand?
A: The valve is designed for body test pressures ranging from 24 bar to 60 bar (hydraulic), and it operates efficiently at temperatures up to 180C, making it suitable for high-pressure and high-temperature applications.
Q: When should this piston valve be used over other valve types?
A: It is recommended in applications where tight shut-off (Class VI), bi-directional flow, and high durability are essential, such as steam, water, oil, and gas service. Its non-rising stem and manual operation make it preferable for compact installations requiring regular manual control.
Q: Where can this piston valve be utilized within industrial processes?
A: This valve is ideal for use in industries such as power generation, chemical processing, oil and gas, and water treatment. Its construction and sealing properties make it suitable for both critical and routine flow control tasks.
Q: What steps ensure proper valve operation and maintenance?
A: Regular inspection of the packing and bonnet, ensuring the handwheel functions smoothly, and checking for any leaks around the seat are key maintenance practices. Using the valve within specified pressure and temperature ratings increases longevity and performance.
Q: How does the non-rising stem design benefit industrial applications?
A: The non-rising stem allows the valve to be installed in areas with limited vertical space and minimizes stem exposure to external contaminants, enhancing operational reliability and reducing maintenance requirements.
Q: What are the advantages of the shot blasted or sand blasted surface finish?
A: These finishes improve the valve's resistance to corrosion, provide a smoother exterior, and increase durability-crucial for industrial environments where physical and chemical wear is a concern.
