About A182 F321H Stainless Steel Piston Valve
A182 F321H Stainless Steel Piston Valve
Full port forged steel isolation valves with a maximum operating pressure of 1973 psig/136 Barg and a maximum operating temperature of 800oF/427oC. The burnished piston and metal reinforced graphite rings provide leak-proof shut off and allow Piston Valves to be operated at higher temperatures, while also extending operating life.
Piston Valves are available in Socket Weld, BSPT, and NPT end connections. Flanged ends can be supplied upon request. Piston Valves are ideal for saturated and superheated steam, and hot water applications.

FAQs of A182 F321H Stainless Steel Piston Valve:
Q: How is the A182 F321H Stainless Steel Piston Valve installed in a pipeline?
A: The valve can be installed using either flanged or screwed end connections, depending on the pipeline configuration. Proper alignment and tightening of the bolts or threads are essential to ensure a secure, leak-free installation.
Q: What are the main benefits of using this piston valve?
A: The primary advantages are its excellent corrosion resistance, capacity to endure high temperatures up to 600C, and reliable sealing with a metal-to-metal seat. Its robust design reduces the risk of leakage and extends operational life in harsh environments.
Q: When should I use a handwheel operated piston valve like this one?
A: Handwheel operated piston valves are ideal when manual flow control and precise regulation are required. They are particularly suited for applications with medium pressures (up to 20 bar) in steam, oil, water, or gas lines where automated actuation is unnecessary.
Q: Where is this valve commonly applied?
A: It is widely used in power plants, chemical processing facilities, refineries, and utility distribution networks. The valve is suitable for fluid, air, steam, and oil media across various industrial sectors.
Q: What is the process for testing these valves?
A: Each piston valve undergoes rigorous hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing to verify compliance with ASME B16.34 and BS 5352 standards. This ensures high performance, safety, and reliability in operation.
Q: How can I select the right port size for my application?
A: Port sizes range from 15mm to 150mm (1/2" to 6"). Selection should be based on the flow rate, system pressure, and the specific requirements of your process. Consulting system flow calculations and the manufacturers sizing guidelines is recommended.
