Cast steel ASME B16.34 Swing Check Valves Pressure Seal Bonnet design
The ASME B16.34 Swing Check, and Y Type Swing Check Valves feature a pressure seal bonnet design for high-pressure services. These valves are extensively used in high pressure and high-temperature steam, oil, gas, chemical, and water applications in thermal power plants, fertilizer plants, petrochemical plants, and refineries. These valves are available in butt weld ends in pressure ratings of Classes 900, 1500 and 2500, and come in carbon steel and alloy steel construction.
Superior Flow Control for Industrial PipelinesDesigned to prevent reverse flow, this swing check valve protects pumps and pipelines in water, oil, and gas applications. The unidirectional flow and non-return operation help maintain system integrity, while the straight body form provides consistent performance and simplifies installation in existing pipework setups.
Engineered for Longevity and EfficiencyManufactured from robust A216 WCB cast carbon steel and featuring a bolted cover joint, the valve offers high durability and thermal resistance for demanding environments. Its metal-to-metal seating and paint-coated finish ensure minimal maintenance and long life, even under high pressure and temperature conditions.
FAQ's of SQK A216 WCB Cast Carbon Steel Swing Check Valve:
Q: How does the SQK A216 WCB swing check valve prevent reverse flow in an industrial pipeline?
A: This valve operates as a non-return mechanism, automatically closing when fluid attempts to flow backward, ensuring unidirectional movement and protecting pumps and equipment from damage.
Q: What are the benefits of using a metal/metal seat in this check valve?
A: Metal-to-metal seated valves provide enhanced durability, leak-tight sealing, and prolonged service life, especially in high pressure and temperature applications prevalent in industrial settings.
Q: Where can the SQK swing check valve be installed?
A: It is suitable for installation in industrial pipelines handling water, oil, or gas, and its flanged ends allow for secure fitting into straight pipeline sections spanning sizes DN50 to DN600.
Q: What process is followed to ensure the valve's reliability and safety?
A: The valve undergoes stringent testing according to API 598 standards, confirming its leakage class (ANSI Class VI) and verifying performance under working pressures up to PN16 (16 Bar).
Q: When should this swing check valve be used instead of other types?
A: This valve is recommended when low pressure drop and reliable non-return operation are required for protecting downstream equipment from reverse flow in water, oil, or gas pipelines.
Q: How is the face-to-face dimension of the valve determined?
A: The valve's face-to-face dimension conforms to applicable ANSI/ASME standards, guaranteeing interchangeability and proper fitment within standardized piping systems.
Q: What advantage does a paint-coated surface offer for this check valve?
A: The paint-coated surface provides extra protection against corrosion and environmental exposure, extending the valve's operational life and maintaining performance in harsh industrial environments.
